The Boys Are Back In Town

Every season, there’s always an injury that will end a team’s season. They may very well make the playoffs still. However, they won’t be taken seriously. We saw this with the Houston Texans last year. QB Deshawn Watson was playing like an MVP Canidate despite being a rookie. This season’s team to have a tide turning injury is the Washington Redskins. They acquired QB Alex Smith this past summer. It’s been said all he do is win and he definitely brought winning to this team. Smith led the Redskins to a 6-3 record before going down with a broken Tibia and Fibula. This opens up the door for the Dallas Cowboys to take control on the NFC East.

The Cowboys are beginning to heat up. After finally acquiring a star WR (Amari Cooper), they are now on a 2 game winning streak. All it takes is a couple of wins to get rolling in the NFL. If a team is hot at the right time, it could work in their favor and could potentially lead to a deep playoff push. Ezekiel Elliot has been a monster as of late, running for over 100+ yards during this 2 game winning streak. Another player that has been key for the Dallas Cowboys has been Dak Prescott. During the 2 game winning streak, he has completed the most passes all season in each game. The Dallas Cowboys will face the Washington Redskins on a short week, Thanksgiving Day. While Dallas is beginning to click on all cylinders, The Redskins are back at the drawing board trying to figure out the starting QB situation. They just signed QB Marc Sanchez for the remainder of the season too. But we can expect Colt McCoy to get the start for the Redskins. Thanksgiving Day should be interesting, as the Dallas Cowboys could take control of the NFL East Division.

Rookies are expected to struggle. Some games, they may have you thinking they’re a lock for the Hall of Fame, while others, the first word that may come to your head is bust. With that being said, it’s okay for rookies to have a bad game. Rookies take so much criticism over their first year in the league. As soon as they have a bad game, we all freak out and lose our minds. While when your Bradys or your Brees has a bad games, we consider it exactly what it is, only a bad game. All week, we all didn’t expect for Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco to play against The Cincinatti Bengals as he dealt with a hip injury. Robert Griffin lll took all of the first team’s reps all week in his absence. However, on gameday, The Ravens decided to go with the rookie, Lamar Jackson. Despite the loss, Jackson was quite impressive. Not only did he have over 100+ Passing Yards, He also added over 100+ Rushing Yards too. He actually led the team in rushing for the game too. Jackson was the first QB since Colin Kaepernick in 2016 to have over 100 Rushing Yards in a single game. He did however, throw a pick. But every QB throws picks. One thing that was extremely impressive with Lamar Jackson was his completion percentage of 72%. While Flacco may have fought hard to keep his job, we can expect for Flacco to hit the open market next summer. The Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson for a reason.  The key thing here is the veteran RG3 was supposed to get the start and they ended up giving it to the rookie. Not only did he impressive Ravens fans, but he gave the Ravens coaching staff a bit of excitement as he convinced them they made the right decision in drafting him.
