Today’s Mystics/Mercury contest started nice and early at 11:30am for Washington Mystics Camp Day. Youth Summer Camps in the surrounding DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) areas came out in full force to support the Mystics. Unfornately, the kids would miss out on watching June Eastern Conference Player Of The Month, Mystics Forward Elena Delle Donne, who was out with a broken nose. Also sidelined with an injury, Mercury Star & WNBA Legend Diana Taursai.

Despite the injuries to two of the WNBA’s heavyweights, we were treated to a highly competitive game early with great action from both teams. Mercury held the lead at the Half, 49 to 44. It looked like we would get an intense 2nd Half from both teams, but that would not be the case. The Mystics were outscored 42-24, leading to a Mercury 91-68 victory.
