Brennan Armstrong and the Cavs continues to click, defeat Georgia Tech 48-40 (10-23-21)

The Virginia Cavaliers would extend their winning streak to four games after defeating ACC foe Georgia Tech 48-40. The Cavs still are holding on to the second spot in the ACC Coastal division, two games behind Pittsburgh. UVA QB Brennan Armstrong led the way for Virginia with 495 total yards (396 passing, 99 rushing) and 6 overall touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing) in the victory. Armstrong currently leads the nation in passing yards with 3,220 yards and is 4th in the country with 23 passing touchdowns. Armstrong’s main target Dontayvion Wicks grabbed 6 receptions with 168 yards and two touchdowns. The Cavalier defense caused the only turnover over the game with a Joey Blount interception, his 2nd of the season.

The game started slow for UVA, falling early 13-0 before outscoring the Yellow Jackets 48-27 the rest of the game. Saturday Night was the 43rd meeting between Georgia Tech and Virginia, the all-time series is even at 21-21-1. Virginia’s offense continues to grow more dangerous by the week. In the next 4 games for Virginia will the Cavs hit the road to take on BYU & Pittsburgh and home vs. Notre Dame & Virginia Tech. Virginia takes on BYU Saturday at 10 pm in Utah.
