The Monarchs seem to have taken out some frustration of the season on Florida International giving them a beat down picking up a 47-24 Victory this week. This was a much needed win for ODU as this season hasn’t gone to plan for them. This is the biggest margin of victory they had this year and the best win ever for this Richy Rahne led team. The team was simply clicking on all cylinders and had it going both offensively and defensively. They’ve scored a lot of points before actually. They scored 47 in week 2 as well but ever since then, the team has cooled out quite a bit. It was nice to see them not only pass but run the ball effectively as well. QB Hayden Wolff was able to spread the ball around as he connected on over 50% of his passes with multiple receivers having over 5 receptions. He tossed 2 TD’s in this game. But it didn’t end there. He had a tremendous amount of help on the ground with the ground and pound game. The two headed monsters in the backfield each had over 100+ rushing yards combining for 3 TD’s.

Defensively, they were able to be solid as well forcing 2 Turnovers in this matchup. Despite having a losing season and struggling a bit, games like this are huge for teams. ODU scored this many points before earlier in the season. For them to be able to do it again convinces them and the fans that this team is capable of being great. The key here is patience and consistency. Amazing win this week for the Monarchs. They now will be back at home as they host the 5-4 Florida Atlantic Owls at 3:30 PM next weekend.
