In the first of 2 meetings, we all got a treat when it came to Richmond and VCU over the weekend. This matchup took place at Richmond, in a game where it could have gone either way, the VCU Rams defeated the Spiders 64-62. The story of this game was all about Vince Williams. It seems like things are finally clicking for the senior and his draft stock is steadily rising. Vince has averaged nearly 20 PPG in the last 4 games. What’s been working for him is the ability to hit shots from beyond the arc. He’s already one of the most athletic guys in the A-10. He can handle and playmaker to compliment that athleticism. He’s hit multiple 3 pointers in 8 straight games now. You can see his confidence growing and it will be interesting to see how things will play out as we get closer to the NBA Draft.

In this particular game vs. the Richmond Spiders, Vince Williams fell just 2 assists away from a triple-double as he made 69% of his shots finishing with 22 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 8 assists. The Rams ran their offense through Williams as Richmond had no answer for him. Although Williams and the Rams played well vs. the Spiders, they had no answer for Grant Golden. The Spiders big man scored on 7 of 9 shots and finished with 18 points to go along with 9 Rebounds. The Rams will host the Spiders again on February 18th at 7 PM.
