There’s no better feeling than taking a vacation, especially when it’s a much needed vacation. Vacations are meant for relaxation. They’re meant to clear my mind, your body, and soul. Many people take vacations to rest. However, those resting days become days filled with fun and you sometimes come back tired despite seeking days of rest.

ODU had their bye week last week. The last time we seen the Monarchs was when they suffered a 38-24 loss to Liberty. This week, they returned to the field on the road against the undefeated Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Simply put, the Monarchs owned them in this matchup what was Coastal Carolina’s homecoming game. ODU publicly humiliated Coastal Carolina defeating them 49-21.

Something that was a need of emphasis for the Monarchs was accomplished in this game. That is the running game. Hayden Wolff was his usual self, as he casually threw 2 TD’s completing 75% of his passes. The Junior, Blake Watson had perhaps the game of his ODU career. Watson rushed for 250+ yards and added 3 TD’s to his statline as well.

Another gem for the Monarchs in this game is they protected the football. Often times, teams can beat themselves with unfortunate turnovers but the Monarchs took care of business on their end. They also outrushed the Chanticleers 324-88, something they failed to do all season. ODU will host Georgia Southern next week at 3:30PM in a game they are favored to win. The Monarchs may have finally found their rhythm fresh out of the bye week.
