EAST RUTHERFORD-The Jacksonville Jaguars picked up win number seven on the season after defeating the Jets 19-3 on Thursday Night Football. Four Riley Patterson field goals (32,45,41,37), a Trevor Lawrence touchdown, and the Jaguars’ stifling defense put them in position to take the lead in the AFC South. For that to happen the Tennessee Titans would have to lose at home to the 1-12-1 Houston Texans.

The in some eyes the unthinkable happened. Texans defeated the Titans 19-14 to grab their second win of the year. With the Titans lost, Week 18 matchup between the Jaguars and Titans will be for the AFC South Championship sending the winner into the playoffs. No matter what happens in Week 17, Week 18 will decide all. I fully expect this game to be flexed to the Sunday night game in primetime. In the last couple of years when those scenarios have come up the game has been flexed to Sunday night.

Doug Pederson and the Jacksonville Jaguars, have truly shocked many this season and have a chance to continue to show people what they’re all about. The Jaguars’ next game will be on New Year’s Day vs. Houston at 1 pm.
