There’s a saying that goes: “There is no place like home.” There’s no better feeling than doing what you love for people that you love. Those people that you love would be family of course and friends. Those people are people that you may have grew up with. People that have had your back through thick and thin and people that would go through a wall for you.
I’m When you can give back to these individuals, offer them something to be proud about and put a smile on their face, is one of the best feelings in the world! You will then be considered “The Hometown Hero.” Isaiah Todd, the 6’9 Forward, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Having the opportunity to play for the Washington Wizards must have been a dream come true for him. Similar to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He will forever be a legend. If Isaiah Todd helps deliver a championship here for the Wizards, you can rest assured he will get the amount of love The King received.
Isaiah may have been born in Baltimore, but he played High School Ball just 2 hours south in Richmond, VA at John Marshall. That may have been your first time hearing about Isaiah Todd. He was projected to be a consensus top 5 draft pick. He had an offer on the table to go to Michigan. However, he carved his own path to the NBA and decided to join the NBA G League. That decision caused him to drop to the 31st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Many considered him to a be a steal at that point. He averaged 14 PPG along with 6 RPG there. Todd is hoping to be a consistent key part of the Wizards rotation this season. He has the ability to take over games if given the opportunity. He is a matchup nightmare as well. He is the true definition of an athlete. His ability to cause mismatches due to his versatile skillset will give opposing teams fits. The only obstacle standing in his way is opportunity. He needs to get comfortable out there. It’s hard to do so if you’re not given the opportunity. He has the tendency to settle for jump-shots. With his size, he should take advantage of his defender and enforce his dominance closer to the basket. Do you remember Anthony Randolph? He was a talented big with exceptional size and strength. Isaiah Todd compares well to him. The Wizards will be appreciative if they can find more minutes for Isaiah Todd this season.
