The problem over the years for the Washington Commanders have always been their offense. It has been a rotating door for everyone in the quarterback room. Every season there seemed to had been a new starting quarterback of the season. In fact, this year is included with a new starting quarterback as Sam Howell has become the guy for the Commanders. He has looked sharp thus far. Another issue has been their lack of weapons too. Terry Mclaurin has always been consistent throughout it all. However, there has never been a number two for this team.
Johan Dotson has stepped up. He has entered into his second season in the NFL and has shown some signs of light. However, he has a tendency to be a boom or bust type player. With that being the case, WR Curtis Samuels has emerged as a key part to this offense and it doesnt seem like it will change either. He is truly a unique player. He almost reminds you of Sandy Francisco 49ers star wide out Deebo Samuels. He is used very similar to him because the Commanders like to put Curtis in the backfield at times too.
Curtis Samuels has found himself in the in zone multiple ways the last three weeks. Sam Howell is looking to utilize him as much as he can find him and so is offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy. Samuels is helping in the evolution of this offense and the Commanders finally have options offensively. Curtis Samuel will only improve and so will this offense.
