What does the Khalil Mack deal mean for the Chicago Bears? I believe it adds a total of 2-3 more wins to their season total. Is that enough for a division title or playoff berth? I wouldn’t go quite that far. It’s a grand addition to the defense obviously, and Coach Gruden’s first big mistake as head coach in my opinion.
The Bears are basically pushing all-in with Trubisky right now. They’re beefing up the already solid defense and trying to add a couple offensive weapons in Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Trey Burton, while Zach Miller is on the PUP. They have Chase Daniel backing up Trubisky, so they don’t really have that reliable back up cushion that they would prefer. Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen are going to be fine, as usual. That defense is going to put in work like last year.
The Raiders, however, traded away arguably the 2nd best defensive player in the NFL. I would have him behind Aaron Donald, who just got a monster deal. Even though they probably received a package consisting of 2 future 1st round draft picks, I don’t foresee them replacing the defensive freak that Mack is, and will continue to be. It’s obvious that Gruden wants to build this team how he sees fit, but ripping apart a solid football team to do so through the draft isn’t exactly what anyone had in mind. This is the 1st of many mistakes to come from the Gruden camp. Just sit back and watch the show, as the Raiders may be spiraling downward fast as they transition into Las Vegas Raiders.
Final Breakdown Of The Trade:
Bears get: Khalil Mack, a 2020 second-round round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round pick.
Raiders get: 2019 first-round pick, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2019 sixth-round pick.
