The Browns are in the Hunt
What a season it has been for the Cleveland Browns! After failing to win a single game last season, they find themselves at 4-6-1 and are currently in the hunt for a wildcard spot in the playoffs. They absolutely nailed it on draft night by taking Baker Mayfield number 1 overall. This team has heart, they’re young, hungry, and they actually care about football. You know how teams will draft these kids and they just care about their stats and the money and fame. That’s not the case here in Cleveland with this Browns team. This team reminds me a lot of the Dallas team from 2016 when Zeke and Dak first stepped on the scene, but only better. Baker is the real deal. And we can’t sleep on rookie RB Nick Chubb. He’s proven to be an elite weapon by his dual threat abilities. Let’s not forget another player who they drafted last season, TE David Njoku. He’s been a player they been trying to feature more into the offense and its worked out for them thus far. The defense is fierce and tough, led by Myles Garrett. It will definitely be nice to see them in the playoffs. Gaining playoff experience always helps young teams, especially when they’re going to be good for many years to come. While I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs, this has still been an amazing season for Browns fans. LeBron may be long gone, but the city of Cleveland have a lot to look forward to.
The Perfect Charge
The LA Chargers are going to make the playoffs. This has been a successful season thus far for the club and it will end well. When this team is healthy, they can be pretty dangerous on both sides of the ball, especially on offense. They may be without RB Melvin Gordon possibly for the rest of the season as he suffered a MCL Sprain in Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Injuries are always a part of the game of football, but it seems to me that injuries are especially a part of the LA Chargers. Nevertheless, they still have plenty of weapons offensively. We can expect a RB by committee in the meantime with Justin Jackson, Austin Ekeler, and Detrez Newsome. The key to this whole equation lies with the man under center, Phillip Rivers. He was traded on draft night for Eli Manning. Manning is the one with the Superbowls, but I’m not exactly sold that he is the better player. Manning is a sure lock to make the Hall of Fame, and Phillip Rivers should be too. Captain Phillip had a fantastic Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. As he led them to a 45-10 Victory, he did so in an invulnerable like fashion going 28/29 passing for 259 Yards and 3 TD’s. This is the best percentage in NFL History. The Chargers are contenders. They just need health to get them through the rest of the way.
