Blue Devils Dominate: Duke Rolls Past William & Mary 62-7 to Remain Undefeated (9-26-26)

DURHAM, N.C. — September 26, 2026 — Duke continued its undefeated start Saturday afternoon, overwhelming William & Mary 62-7 at Wallace Wade Stadium.


The Blue Devils improved to 4-0 and extended their winning streak to eight games behind an explosive offense and another commanding defensive performance.


Quarterback Walker Eget opened the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jayden Moore. Running back Nate Sheppard followed with a 19-yard touchdown run, giving Duke a 14-0 advantage.
William & Mary briefly answered with a six-yard touchdown reception by Jack Reuter, but the Blue Devils quickly took control.


Duke scored 24 unanswered points in the second quarter, building a 38-7 halftime lead. Backup quarterback Dan Mahan threw touchdown passes to Kavon Simmons and Jaivon Solomon, while Eget connected with Jared Richardson.


Sheppard finished with 116 rushing yards, extending his streak of 100-yard performances to five consecutive games. Eget and Mahan combined for five touchdown passes.
The Blue Devils accumulated 638 total yards, including 286 rushing yards, while holding William & Mary to just 170 yards and 17 rushing yards.


Duke’s 62 points marked its highest scoring output since 1949.
With the victory secured, Duke enters its open week undefeated before traveling to Georgia Tech on October 10.


The Blue Devils have established momentum through four games. Saturday’s performance demonstrated the depth and balance that have powered their impressive start.
