When you are number 4 in the FCS rankings you must have an identity that you lean on, and the William and Mary Tribe brought its defense on the road in a 15-7 win. With transfer Caden Bonoffski showing his value, the Tribe got off to a 3-0 lead. Upon the kickoff, Charleston Southern caught it on the goal line and returned the kickoff 100 yards to give Charleston Southern the lead 7-3. With another field goal by Bonoffski, the Tribe were trailing by one point. On the next possession, the defense forced a safety giving the Tribe an 8-7 lead. With baseball numbers of 8-7, the Tribe continued to dominate on defense as Malcolm Spencer and Marcus Barnes each had an interception, and the defense did not allow over 100 total yards of offense.

With the game low in numbers, Malachi Imoh had one of the best games of his young career carrying the ball for 13 touches totaling 110, and a game-closing touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Tribe breathing room to extend to 3-0 on the season. They will host Maine (0-3) as they look to continue growing each week on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
