Stiles Brockett was born in West Chester, New York, but moved to Virginia after his first birthday. His parents, Tilford and Sharon Brockett, raised him in Fairfax. According to Stiles, his mother and grandfather loved watching tennis, and at the age of 4 they signed him up for it. Along with playing tennis, he also played basketball, but at 12, he had to choose between the two sports. Unlike most student-athletes, Stiles didn’t go to a traditional school. Since COVID, Stiles has taken online classes because it helped him with traveling and becoming more flexible due to his tennis commitments. Brockett graduated from online school and is now attending the University of Virginia.

Tennis has taken Stiles across the world, playing in tournaments and seeing many different places in Europe and South America. Before college, Stiles won 3 national championships in Juniors. He has also played in the US Open Juniors 3 times and in the junior Wimbledon once. Stiles won the doubles title at the 2023 Copa Telconet in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Brockett had the highest ranking of 75 in the World ITF. Stiles was also a Five-star Blue Chip recruit, ranked as high as number 8 in the national recruit rankings and number 1 in both the Mid-Atlantic and Virginia rankings. Brockett was trained at the Juniors Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland. Stiles stated that he thinks college is a great pathway to going pro, especially with many athletes going to college first, and then going on to the pro level afterward. He chose UVA because of the reputation of their tennis program. Stiles also believes that UVA can help him reach his goal of playing tennis on the professional level.
