The Washington Redskins are 5-2!

Outside of this, I work at a Doctor’s office. Do I love what I do? Sometimes, but in the end, some days are better than others. You have your good days and your bad days, but you still come to work ready to work hard and you hope for the best. Some days, you may be busy, and you never know who will show up to work. People get sick, or even hurt, and maybe even like to play hooky. Working with the Redskins is no different , and the same rules apply there in DC. This Redskins team is now 5-2. It’s still somewhat early into the season, but we’re halfway through, and the Redskins seem to be a playoff team. We have a pretty good viewpoint on what’s legit and not legit. Through 8 games of this NFL Season, this Redskins team is legit. Not only do they seem to be a playoff team, but they seem to be a division winner too. This is huge for this team! It turns out that the Alex Smith trade was a success. They didn’t need Terrell Pryor anymore. He’s not even in the league at this moment. There’s always rumblings about Head Coaches being fired. We seen Hue Jackson of the Cleveland Browns get fired over the weekend. Darn, even the OC in Cleveland got fired. Head Coach Jay Gruden name comes up from time to time. But he has this team hitting on all cylinders.

Another huge part of the reason of success in Washington goes out to Adrian Peterson. He won MVP in 2012 with the Minnesota Vikings. He actually should be highly favored for MVP Considerations again this season with The Redskins. We all hate to see injuries. Derrius Guice seemed to be just what this team needed. When the news came out that he would miss the season, what better free agent RB could you ask for than Adrian Peterson? This team are in route of a huge turnaround from last season. We all expected the Philadelphia Eagles to improve after winning a Superbowl with their backup QB. Many considered this to be a bouce back season for Eli and the New York Football Giants, especially after drafting a star RB Saquan Barkley. And the Dallas Cowboys were even mentioned in Superbowl talks in the offseason.
We didn’t know what to expect from this Redskins team. This work year for them has to be considered a good day in the office already! The Washington Redskins have showed up this season, and we should all expect them to win this division and represent the NFC East in the playoffs.

Are We Sleeping on The Panthers?

To begin this century, way back in 2000-01, the Baltimore Ravens won Superbowl 35. In 2005-06, the Pittsburgh Steelers won Superbowl 40. Two years later, the New York Giants brought home Super Bowl 42. And in 2010, the Green Bay Packers won Superbowl 45. All of these teams were Wild Card teams. They didn’t win the division, but they still did enough to get into the playoffs. You see, it’s not necessarily how you start, what matters is how you finish. Teams can get hot in the NFL. Momentum is a real thing around the league. That makes me think of the Carolina Panthers. At 5-2, they only stand just a single game away out of first place. The Saints (6-1) are going to win that division. They’re picking up right where they left off last season. But the Panthers still have Superbowl 50 in their minds. Carolina is quietly winning games. Led by Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey, They’re quietly ranked 2nd in the league in rushing. They’re quietly putting up 25 PPG, ranking 12th amongst the league. The Panthers are quietly stopping the run, ranking 8th in rushing yards given up per game. And last but not least, Cam Newton is quietly having a great bounce back season (13 TDs/4 INTs – 1,646 Passing Yards with a Pass Percentage of 66% which is the highest of his career). This team reminds me ALOT of our Reigning Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Last year, they got great QB play, a strong running game, and heroic play from the defense. Sometimes, it’s good to wake up and smell the coffee. Don’t sleep on the Carolina Panthers.
