The 2022 RBC Heritage tournament in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina had everything a golf fan could dream about. The Harbour Town Golf Links course played great for the players on the field. We were able to see amazing scores such as 8 under by round three leader Harold Varner III. We also witnessed strong winds, which made the course incredibly challenging. There were even wildlife sightings such as young deer and alligators.

My favorite leading into the week was Patrick Cantlay. After having many great finishes at the RBC Heritage, I was a big believer it was his time to win. Patrick showed great course management when he finished round 2 with the lead while scoring birdies in his last four holes. The downfall of Patrick Cantlay was his inability to make putts in the 8-foot area and beyond. He only made one putt at this distance, and it was his putt at the 17th on his final round. If you cannot close a hole with 1 putt it makes it extremely difficult to win any tournament. Patrick Cantlay did a great job of finding a way to tie and create a playoff. However, this playoff also resulted in a loss.

Jordan Spieth is the 2022 RBC Heritage Champion. It is quite a surprise to see Jordan complete his comeback. Just last week he had missed the cut at Augusta and was struggling with his new swing and swing routine. Aside from his missed put within 18 inches to close round 3, Jordan was able to play consistently and create birdie opportunities. Spieth was able to capitalize on his spectacular bunker play, holing out multiple times. Spieth collected three eagles in this tournament, two of them coming in the final round.

Everybody knew Jordan was going through a swing transformation and that it would take time. Many started to worry as there were no positive signs, especially after missing the cut at Augusta last week. After recording his 13th PGA Tour win. I think it is safe to say Jordan has figured it out. This win at the RBC Heritage marks his first as a father and his second consecutive win on Easter Sunday. Next year will be interesting, as The Masters final round will be played on Easter Sunday.
