The ODU Monarchs are coming off of their best win of the season last week. It was a game where everything that we all had concerns about was resolved and they ultimately scored nearly 50 points. The running game was phenomenal. Their defense showed up that week. Most importantly, they had good QB play from Hayden Wolff and he managed to take care of the football as well as he didn’t commit any turnovers in the game.

One of the most frustrating things in sports is trying to find consistency. It is extremely difficult to have a good outlook on the season when you can’t seem to get into a rhythm or groove. ODU haven’t won consecutive games all season as they loss this week to Georgia Southern. The Monarchs had a tough time defending the run as they gave up over 200 yards on the ground in this game.

That has been their achilles heel all season long. Stopping the run along with them having success in their very own running game has been a struggle all season for the Monarchs.

ODU has shown they know and have what it takes to win. Consistency is their biggest challenge at this point. Can they bring it every single week on both sides of the ball? That remains to be seen. The Monarchs will visit the Georgia State Panthers next week as they hope to pick up a much needed victory.
