The Jets Are A QB Away From Being Great
Have you ever made decisions with your heart and not your mind? It may not even have been a decision. Perhaps you made a statement or assumption with your heart and not your mind. How has that worked out for you? I made a statement about the Jets that turned out to be true. The Jets will be a much-improved team this year. I then made a statement about Zach Wilson that was made with my heart and not my mind. I stated that Zach Wilson will flourish this year. Oh, how wrong was I! Zach was electrifying at BYU. He looked like he was primetime. He looked like the real deal and that he was going to be the next big thing in the NFL. I even compared him to Aaron Rodgers. I have tried to defend him for quite some time now. However, I no longer can do so. Zach Wilson stinks. Zach Wilson is not a starting NFL QB. I wish the NFL had a developmental league like the NBA has with the G-League because that’s where Zach Wilson belongs. The Jets have as much talent as anyone in the league on offense. We saw old man Joe Flacco utilize those weapons with full force while he was in the lineup. Zach hasn’t been able to produce the same way Flacco has. To be honest, the offense is a different offense under Zach. They’re more preservative and more limited. There is still some good left in Zach. But he isn’t ready to start at the moment. If the Jets had a gunslinger or just a capable QB, they would have a real shot at beating out the Dolphins and winning this division. If they miss the playoffs, don’t be surprised if the Jets make a big splash at QB this offseason. It could be through the draft or maybe even through a trade or free agency.
Are The Cowboys On The Verge Of Going To The Super Bowl?
The Dallas Cowboys are a team that is rich on both sides of the ball. They have a stingy and intimidating defense. Micah Parson may be the best defensive player in the league. Trevon Diggs is no one to sleep on either. On the other side, they have a great one-two punch in Zeke and Pollard. Despite what many say and feel, there is still value in Ezekiel Elliot. He may not be an every-down back anymore. However, he can still be effective, particularly in goal-line situations. No matter what anyone thinks about Dak, he still puts up some of the best passing numbers in the league. If they keep him healthy and protect him, he is valuable to the team. Now the Cowboys lost Amari Cooper this past offseason. Everyone mentioned they needed to do something with the lack of weapons. Ceedee Lamb is solid. But he isn’t what I call a #1. Michael Gallup is back and beginning to look somewhat healthy and like his old self again. Dalton Schultz has been banged up too but he’s a trooper. Cowboys have been having success despite their so-called lack of weapons. They even had success with backup QB Cooper Rush. There has been so much talk about Odell Beckham Jr possibly coming to Dallas. If this happens, the Cowboys’ offense will be much improved and we can expect them to be a true super bowl contender this year.
