Normally when a team jumps up on you 14-0 you typically throw out the run game however in this case William and Mary doubled down on the run averaging 7.5 yards per pop.  The secondary of the Tribe was tested and as any cornerback would tell you they want the opportunity to make a play.  Well, early in the game Furman jumped out to a 14-0 lead with an air attack including an 80-yard touchdown pass which put the Tribe in unfamiliar territory.  The Tribe started to move the chains and went on a 27-0 run led by the ground attack of Bronson Yoder who had 24 carries for 166 yards and a touchdown.

Even with those beast numbers, Yoder was not even half of the production as the Tribe ran for 390 yards on 52 carries.  Quarterback Darrius Wilson was just as good with 17 carries and 155 yards with a touchdown.  Backup running back and Virginia Native Malachi Imoh had 9 carries for 50 yards as well. Speaking of 50 yards, Sean McElwain had 2 catches and a touchdown with 50 yards receiving.  As we mentioned before the defensive secondary was tested and with the early losses came the late wins where TJ Mc Gill and Bryce Barnes each got an interception.  Lousia County’s own Alex Washington led the way with 9 tackles and continued to trend upward as the defense started to get those pieces filled from last season.

The 12/13 ranked Tribe improved to 3-1 with a 34-24 victory with a big game coming up against Hampton as we find out who is the best team in the 757.  Both teams look to rise in the Commonwealth Collegiate Rankings for Virginia as all in-state games just mean a little bit more than most.  Also could be an important game come November when we look at the CAA conference standings.
