Night of Champions 2026: A Historic Night of Shocks, Steel, and Coronations in Riyadh

In front of a passionate crowd at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, WWE delivered one of its most emotionally charged premium live events of the year. Night of Champions 2026 blended high-stakes title defenses, tournament finals with massive SummerSlam implications, and a grudge match inside a steel cage, culminating in a feel-good main event that will be talked about for years.

The 12th Night of Champions marked the second consecutive year in Riyadh and the 15th major WWE event in Saudi Arabia as part of the ongoing partnership. With six compelling matches on the card, the show balanced athletic showcases, personal vendettas, and crowning new royalty.

Opening the Show: Oba Femi Claims the King of the Ring Crown

The night kicked off with Raw’s powerhouse Oba Femi facing off against the charismatic Jey Uso in the 2026 King of the Ring finals. Femi, known for his imposing size and explosive power, proved why he’s a rising star by weathering Uso’s signature high-flying arsenal.

Uso unleashed multiple suicide dives and superkicks, followed by repeated Uso Splashes, but Femi kicked out with authority. The decisive moment came when Femi powered through with his devastating “Fall From Grace” finisher for the pitfall victory. As the new King of the Ring, Femi earns a world title shot at SummerSlam, signaling a potential main event push.

This hard-fought opener set an energetic tone, highlighting the tournament’s prestige and Femi’s undeniable potential as a future top guy.

Queen of the Ring: IYO SKY Soars Past Champion Liv Morgan

Next up, IYO SKY battled Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final. Morgan, ever the opportunist, entered with confidence but faced a resilient SKY, who overcame a knee injury during the match.

After trading signature moves—including Morgan’s Three Amigos and Oblivion attempts—SKY capitalized with her breathtaking “Over the Moonsault” for the win. Post-match, SKY immediately challenged Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam, adding another layer of intrigue to the women’s division.

This victory not only crowned SKY as Queen but positioned her as a major threat heading into the biggest party of the summer.

Grudge Match Mayhem: Seth Rollins Defeats Bron Breakker in Steel Cage

One of the most physical contests saw Seth “Freakin” Rollins settle his score with former protégé-turned-rival Bron Breakker inside a steel cage. The match featured weapons (tables, chairs, kendo sticks) and brutal spots, including a massive superplex from the top of the cage through a table.

Breakker’s raw power and spears tested Rollins, but “The Visionary” endured, countering with a top-rope Stomp after a series of high-impact exchanges. Rollins secured the pinfall in what commentators called their best outing yet, closing the chapter on their feud and freeing him for new storylines on Raw.

The crowd was electric throughout, chanting “This is awesome!” As the cage amplified the drama and violence.

Title Retentions: Trick Williams and Tiffany Stratton Hold Strong

The United States Championship match pitted champion Trick Williams against a hungry Ricky Saints. Williams overcame early dominance from the Saints with his signature athleticism, finishing with the “Trick Shot” for the retention. In the Women’s United States Championship bout, Tiffany Stratton defended against the powerful Jade Cargill. Despite interference and strong challenges from Cargill (including a Sandstorm and a chokeslam), Stratton retained with her “Prettiest Moonsault Ever” after clever run-ins and distractions involving Chelsea Green and Charlotte Flair. Both matches showcased rising talent and kept the midcard titles active.

Main Event Magic: Sami Zayn’s Dream Realized in Triple Threat Thriller

The highlight of the evening—and one of the biggest moments in recent WWE history—was the Undisputed WWE Championship triple threat featuring defending champion Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Sami Zayn. Zayn entered to a hero’s welcome, while Rhodes and Gunther represented established main event dominance. The match was a masterclass in pacing: early chain wrestling and stiff chops from Gunther, signature offense from Rhodes (Cross Rhodes attempts), and resilient underdog spots from Zayn (Helluva Kicks and Blue Thunder Bombs).

Tables were broken, near-falls abounded (including a dramatic 2.999 count on Gunther), and alliances shifted rapidly. In the climax, after Rhodes hit a double-stacked Cross Rhodes, Zayn rolled him up for the shocking pinfall victory. Fireworks erupted as Zayn became the new Undisputed WWE Champion, achieving Triple Crown and Grand Slam status in an emotional celebration with the Riyadh crowd. Rhodes showed frustration, while Gunther expressed anger backstage afterward. This win capped a long journey for the “Honorary Uce” and injected fresh energy into the world title picture.

Overall Takeaways and Road to SummerSlam

Night of Champions 2026 succeeded by delivering surprises without sacrificing in-ring quality. New royalty in Oba Femi and IYO SKY, decisive resolutions in feuds, and Zayn’s crowning moment created a memorable card that bridged storylines toward SummerSlam.

WWE continues to thrive with compelling character work and athletic displays. Zayn’s victory proves that persistence and fan connection still matter in the modern era. As the road to SummerSlam heats up, expect explosive follow-ups from these new champions and contenders.

What a night for the “Last Real Good Guy”—and for WWE fans worldwide. Ride or Die!
