DC’s offense faltered when Bean exited with an apparent shoulder injury, forcing backup E.J. Perry into the fray. While the Defenders’ rushing attack still produced yards—Valladay had a strong outing—the passing game and red-zone efficiency suffered. A late fourth-quarter surge brought DC within striking distance, but Louisville’s defense held firm, sealing the 27-20 victory.
