When Bronson Yoder went down at the end of last week’s game against Maine, you could hear a pin drop in the stadium as many knew that might be a bigger loss than they initially realized. Granted I have mentioned that the Tribe had a three-headed monster in the backfield, however when your leading tailback goes down the roles change for the others to pick up the pieces. Even with Malachi Imoh and Martin Lucas carrying the ball for 40 carries gaining 227 yards, the Tribe failed to capitalize on the movement of the ball as they kicked 2 field goals in the second quarter which was the only scoring drives that they could muster up.

After the defense goes 3 straight quarters with a shut-out Matthew Downing threw 2 fourth-quarter touchdowns to take the lead and to cap it off as Elon breaks up William and Mary’s undefeated run for the second consecutive season. The Tribe will look to bounce back if they can travel to Charlottesville and beat UVA this will give them a big win to erase this week’s defeat. The Tribe will travel up Interstate 64 on Saturday for a 12 p.m. showdown.
