We live in a world surrounded by digital media. In fact, in the year 2013, it was calculated that about 1.2 Billion people play video games. Video games have been around for about as long as I can remember. In the event of an NBA offseason, we have basketball video games to play to hold us over. There have been a number of NBA video games that we have been blessed with over the years. There’s NBA Street, Street Hoops, NBA Ballers, NBA Jam, I mean the list goes on and on. But the main ones we can’t forget are NBA Live and 2K. These two basketball games have been battling over the years, and the battle can be likened to The Warriors and The Cavaliers. NBA 2K has dominated The NBA Live series, however, the Live series has a few bright spots, so we can’t count them out. 2K has all of the glory and praise and they check all the boxes. They have the better game overall. The graphics are better, the gameplay, the game modes, even the cover athletes are better. NBA Live offers a few good features too. The one game mode offers the opportunity to create a player, build him up, and can take his talents to The Streets or to The League. That game mode also gives you the ability to play in The Drew League which takes place every summer. But it doesn’t end there. NBA Live now gives you the capability to create a female baller, and play with some of the WNBA’s best players. This feature not only reaches out to the female market, but to a lot of the male market as well because we all love the game of basketball. Let’s be honest, Maya Moore of The Minnesota Lynx may be able to take on some of the players in the NBA, and that’s no secret to anyone.

They say if you can’t beat them, then join them. Great players across the league team up every summer. Boogie Cousins joined The Warriors. Carmelo Anthony will be joining the Rockets and LeBron joined a young and promising Lakers team.  Here’s my proposition to the world of gamers. How about NBA Live and 2K team up, merge everything they both currently have now, and form the ultimate basketball game that we all have been waiting on. Here are some of the changes I would add to the game…

• Transfer MyPlayer Data

• Bring Back The My Crib Feature

  • Make it even more opened world, with cars, family, friends, parties, etc.
  • Be able to recruit to team up with other star players
  • Add Ice Cube’s The Big 3 League
  • No More VC- Make upgrading players easier
  • Better Servers
  • Add In-Game Commercials
  • Coach/ Front Office Mode
  • NBA Allstar Weekend
