Have you ever met that great girl? Or even that great guy. They were down to earth. Cool people to say the least. They may have been funny, genuine, and caring too. The most kind and sweetest person you ever met. They were everything you been looking for in a possible mate. However, you had just gotten out of a relationship. It hasn’t even been a full month yet. But yet, the interest is there and you’re not quite ready to handle being in a relationship just yet. It’s life, unfortunately. Unfortunately, I’m sure we all have been there. We need time to heal and get ourselves together after such a long grind. Over the years, I have grown to really like and appreciate the game of Baseball. It’s a team sport and playing the game on a high level isn’t as easy as it looks. We all have been complaining about the game of Baseball over the years. We need more hits! We want more Home Runs! Player Movement needs to be more of a thing in the Major Leagues. Where are all the polarizing players in the league now that guys like Alex Rodriguez, Big Papi David Ortiz, and Barry Bonds have retired? Baseball has given us EVERYTHING we have asked for and it still isn’t enough. Teams are scoring a lot of runs in games nowadays. Just ask the Yankees and the Dodgers. Everyone in the Major Leagues can hit now. Christian Yelich is making Home Runs look easy. I won’t be surprised if he can hit one with his eyes closed. And the few polarizing players in the league have had player movement over the years. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado had all of us on the edge of our seats during free agency. But somehow, we still aren’t happy nor are we satisfied. There’s a reason to everything. Here are 5 reasons here..
1. It’s the Summertime
The kids are home from school for the entire summer. They refuse to stay in the house. So you’re constantly on the go making frequent trips to the pool and beach, or even amusement parks. Summertime is all about vacation anyway.
2. Game Times
Most of us work full time during the day, 5 days a week and 8 hours a day. Most MLB Games are played while we all are at work. Although we have a few evening and night games, the majority are played when the sun is shining at its peak in the day.
3. The NBA
The NBA has now become a 12-Month Brand. With the long 82 Game Regular season, the playoffs, the NBA Draft, and Free Agency, the NBA doesn’t seem to get a break. Coaches are getting fired and hired. Players like Lebron and Durant are polarizing. The NBA is almost like your daily gossip of what’s going to happen next, especially at the barbershop.
4. The NFL
During the NFL Season, it’s cold outside and it starts to get dark early too. Those 2 factors alone gives all of America reason to stay home and watch TV. Additionally, its Sunday and we all have the thought about going to work the next day in the back of our minds.
5. Not enough Drama
Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has done an amazing job keeping the drama out of MLB. Sad to say, a lot of professional athletes are well known due to the fact of finding themselves in stick situations. Think about this: If you’re out In public, would you recognize Mike Trout (LA Angels) first, or Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors)?
The game of Baseball is an amazing game. But the fact of the matter is as good as Baseball is, it can’t compete with Basketball and Football. Nothing against Baseball, It’s just bad timing.
