To sum up the regular season for the ODU Monarchs, I think it’s safe to say it’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride. Inconsistent is the perfect word to describe the Monarchs. They have been trading wins for losses all season long and losses for wins too. One week, the defense plays strong. The following week, they struggle all across the field.

This week, it didn’t matter. It was the last game of the season. However, it would have been nice to finish with a winning record. The Monarchs did just that as they beat Georgia State 25-24 on a last minute field goal to seal the deal. ODU was down 21-0 at one point in this game.

The miracle started with Grant Wilson as he got going midway into the third quarter as he connected with Reymello Murphy for a touchdown. Wilson passed for 208 yards completing 15/33 of his passes for one touchdown along with one pick. Grant Wilson also was able to punch one in using his legs too. The running game helped ODU in this game too as Obie Sanni rushed for 85 yards and scored a touchdown as well on the ground. This victory was huge and nail biting for everyone with a game winning field goal by Ethan Sanchez. This victory has earned ODU Bowl Eligibility. What a way to end the season for the Monarchs!
