GREEN BAY, WI- The Washington Redskins came into Week 14 with an outside chance to make the playoffs and win the NFC East. A lot of scenarios would have had to play out. Dallas would have to lose the last 4, Philadelphia would have to lose 3 out of their last four and Washington would have to win out. Standing in the Redskins way would be Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The two teams met last last year at FedEx Field were Adrian Peterson led Washington to a 31-17 victory. This year’s edition of the matchup took place at Lambeau Field and we got a very hard-fought matchup.
Green Bay held off Washington 20-15. Packers running back Aaron Jones racked up 134 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Jones also led Packers with 6 receptions. Aaron Rodgers didn’t have the greatest day only throwing for 195 yards and touchdown. Packers defense racked up 4 sacks and interception.
Washington got down early 14-0, but great play by the Redskins defense kept them alive late in this game. They would sack Rodgers 4 times. Adrian Peterson had another solid outing vs. Green Bay. Peterson has owned the Packers in his career with over 2,000 yards rushing and over 10 total touchdowns. Unfortunately, Washington would limp out of this game losing Derrius Guice for the year with MCL Sprain and QB Dwayne Haskins played through an ankle injury, has situation will be something to watch this week. Terry McLaurin continued to show tons of upside after making an amazing one-hand grab for a touchdown late in the game.
Washington will try to get win #4 this season on Sunday vs. division for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins have a chance to ruin the Eagles season. Can the Redskins continue to grow and finish the season strong? These last three games should be interesting.
