Jets Soaring High
If I were to tell you the Jets would make the playoffs this year before the season started, you probably would call me insane. During the preseason this year, it felt like all hope was lost. QB Zach Wilson went down with a knee injury that gave us all a huge scare as the injury was a non-contact injury. It was a good thing they kept backup QB Joe Flacco around. Flacco started the season for them and he helped them win games. He is a huge reason they’re 5-2 now. Zach Wilson is back and fully healthy & the Jets haven’t lost a game since he returned from injury. What’s interesting is the fact that the Jets have him playing a conservative role. They have been running the ball heavily this season. Rookie RB Breece Hall along with Michael Carter has been leading the way. Unfortunately, Hall will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL. That said, folks better be sure to add Michael Carter to the waiver wire if they haven’t already. The Jets will look to lean on him a lot now since they aren’t running their offense through Zach Wilson at the moment. Because of that, WR Elijah Moore has demanded a trade. This Jets offense is fully loaded and dangerous when healthy. They have a ton of weapons on the outside and their RBs are dangerous as well. With Breece Hall going down, they may look for Zach Wilson to throw the ball a bit more. Either way, the Jets look good and if they can get anything positive out of Wilson, then the Jets will be a legit team to make the playoffs despite losing Breece Hall for the season.
Did the 49ers improve with the addition of CMC?
Yes, the San Francisco 49ers did get beat pretty badly over the weekend. That normally happens anytime a team is playing the Kansas City Chiefs. Yes, Patrick Mahomes outplayed and got the best out of Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers. That too normally happens as well. Even after adding Christian McCaffrey, the 49ers lost pretty badly this past weekend. With that being said, the 49ers may have punched their ticket back to the Super Bowl this year if they can get healthy. The addition of CMC is one of the best moves done all season for any team thus far this year. McCaffrey will add a different dynamic to this team. Deebo Samuels was practically a workhorse for the 49ers. Now, he has a sidekick to help him instill fear in opponents. Last season in Carolina, QB Sam Darnold looked great playing next to CMC. Once CMC got hurt, we could hardly recognize the Sam Darnold of Carolina. It was New York Darnold all over again! Christian McCaffrey enhanced Darnold’s play. We can expect the same for Jimmy G.
