Eli’s Last Game….?

Rather it’s from the sidelines, or in the actual game like we saw this past Monday night, we all may be seeing the last of Eli Manning of the New York Football Giants. In fact, we may all be seeing the last of him period in an NFL uniform. Eli showed us he may not be washed up Monday night. Of coarse, he played a horrible secondary in Philadelphia. But the clock is ticking for the 2X Superbowl MVP. Already done in New York, at age 38, it’s hard to see a team taking a chance on him. So the question on everyone’s mind is this; Is Eli Manning a Hall of Famer? Yes he is! This era of football over the last 2 decades have been dominated by the New England Patriots. Eli managed to beat them in both of his Super Bowl appearances. His last name is Manning. That is definitely a good name to have in the NFL thanks to Archie (Father) and Peyton Manning (Big Brother). And lastly, Eli has nearly 60,000 passing yards in his 15 Year Career, along with 362 Touchdowns. Our time of seeing Eli may be over, but we can rest assured we will see him inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame soon.

The Redskin’s Ultimate Problem

Have you ever found yourself between a rock and a hard place? The Redskins have. In fact, this may be rock bottom for them. However, it can always be worst. The Redskins have addressed their QB situation. In fact, you can make the argument that the Redskins have the most depth at that position when all of them are healthy. Let’s see, there’s the original guy, Alex Smith. He is recovering from a knee injury. Oh, and then there’s Colt McCoy and Case Keenum who are serving as backup QB’s. They both are considered 2 of the best backup QB’s in the game. In fact, when in the right situation, Case Keenum could win you a Super Bowl. And then there’s the rookie who the Redskins have laid their future hopes upon, Dwayne Haskins. At the RB position, there’s Derrius Guice, the future of this team who happens to be hurt yet again. They also have a future Hall of Famer who many can’t believe how good he still is, Adrian Peterson. Chris Thompson is a good back to have on the team as well. This team has talent. The problem is health. Will they be available on Sunday to show you the talent? The Redskins have shut RB Derrius Guice down for the rest of the season after re-aggravating the knee again. This team needs not only a new training staff but a coach to make better judgement calls when handling injuries all season.

The Unlucky Colts

The Colts knew this season was going to be a long one when they got word that the man they invested so much in was going to retire just before the regular season was set to start. While the Colts have been in this position before with QB Jacoby Brissett, they haven’t had a moment to cater to his style of play. Andrew Luck was a different kind of animal when it came to football. Brissett is more of a detail oriented guy and he needs the right tools by his side to succeed in the NFL. As good as Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has been this season, I will never forget his NFL Playoff Debut vs. the LA Chargers last season. If you look at him from then to now, you would be amazed at what you see. The Ravens catered to Lamar Jackson’s strengths to hide his weaknesses. That is what will be on the to-do list for the Indianapolis Colts for Jacoby Brissett. Adding more weapons will help too. TY Hilton missed a ton of games and he was the lone deep threat to this offense. The Colts will have to think outside of the box this summer.
