It is an exciting week for golf fans as this week is completely different than what we are used to. I mean let’s face it, march madness could not be the only competition using bracket play. Before we talk about who has a good chance to outlast the field this week, we must give congratulations to Taylor Moore who punched his ticket to Augusta and earned his first career win last week. He was able to outlast the famous Jordan Spieth. It truly showed how your odds can change drastically in a matter of a few holes. That is what happened to Moore as we saw his odds drop from +5000 to +100 in that time stretch. This continues to show why the PGA is special as it has given many opportunities to people to play the historic majors. Now switching over to this week’s tournament which takes place in Austin, Texas at the Austin Country Club. Many names will be in the match-play event hoping to be the last ones standing.

Jordan Spieth although did not get the win will hope to use his impressive wedge play to earn a win this week in the match play event. Other favorites such as Jon Rahm, Patrick Cantlay, and world number 1 Scottie Scheffler hope to create some momentum as we are only a few weeks away from the Masters. My favorite to win this week is Will Zalatoris. Throughout his career, he has made a name for himself by contending to the very end in his major. He has struggled at times but I believe he will get it done to get his second win on the tour. My dark horse for this week is Rickie Fowler. Fowler who has fallen off the past few years has made the comeback this year. He so far has made 9 out of his 10 possible cuts and has even finished runner-up. Fowler will be looking to crack the top 50 for the world golf rankings or win to get his chance at a major in Augusta.
