When asked about professional MMA, the average fan may only assume you are talking about the UFC. Another promotion was created a few short years ago. This promotion is called Professional Fighters League. It is a league that conducts its fights through a season platform where fighters must qualify for the playoffs and have a chance at 1 million dollars.

The PFL will make a stop in San Antonio, Texas on August 4, 2023. This will be the first round of the playoffs for the featherweight and light-heavyweight divisions. There are a total of 10 matches on the card this week. This card includes the number 1 ranked featherweight in the men’s division Bubba Jenkins headlining the event.

I have narrowed it down to three fights you as a fan are not going to want to miss. Starting at number three is the undefeated Brazilian Gabriel Braga against the veteran Chris Wade. Braga has made a name for himself with an overall record of 11 wins and 0 losses and has won both times this season on the PFL. Chris Wade has seen a lot of combat in his career as he fights almost triple Bragas. Wade holds a record of 23 wins and 9 losses and is split with 1 win and 1 loss this season. I am predicting a Wade win by submission… I believe his experience will carry him through the fight.

The second match I believe is going to be a show-stopper and is non-other than the main event. Bubba Jenkins against Jesus Pinedo. This fight features the heavy favorite and most talked about fighter in Jenkins. Both of these fighters have a similar record. They both have 21 wins and 6 losses. The only difference is Pinedo also has 1 draw. Jenkins is a fighter who has won the majority of his fights through the decision. While Pinedo has finished most of his fights. The key is if Jenkins can last the fight and make it go the distance, and if Pinedo can get a finish is the only way I see him being successful. I predict Jenkins will drag the fight to the ground and win by decision.

This third fight which I believe has the chance to be the fight of the night consists of two light heavyweights. Josh Silveira against Ty Flores in the co-main event. I pick this as my fight of the night because these two fighters can finish fights with the best of them. Silveira has the better record at 11 wins and 1 loss. Silveira is a finisher he has collected all but 1 win from stoppage. Ty Flores has a few more fights and even made an appearance in 2020 on Dana White’s Contender Series. A lot like the other two fights I believe this will come down to if the fight goes the distance or a stoppage is called. If this fight goes all three rounds I expect Ty Flores to get the win. Flores has won more decision-based fights and has more experience longer in the rounds. This fight will be a fight many will remember in the PFL. I predict a Flores win by decision.
