Have The Commanders Found Their Guy?

The NFL is all about playing one game at a time one week at a time. If someone gets hurt, the protocol is next man up. But at the end of the day, it’s one game at a time. As it stands today, the Washington Commanders are in first place in the NFC East. A win is a win at the end of the day, and the only thing you can do is keep building off of it and continue to get better. Wins aren’t easy to come by, especially when the team is in the same division as the Dallas Cowboys who looked unrecognizable in week one and when you’re competing with the Philadelphia Eagles who represented the NFC in the Super Bowl last season. Another challenge is starting fresh from top to bottom with ownership all the way to the starting QB. Sam Howell has begun his role of the starting QB this week and from the looks of it, so far so good. The QB position has been the one position the Commanders could not seem to figure out. Have the Washington Commanders finally found their guy? I would say yes! Sam Howell is a poised pocket passer and he looked exactly just that as he passed for over 200 Yards completing 61% of his passes. It wasn’t easy for him with the struggles of the offensive line. That explains and shows the depth of his game as he ran one in for a touchdown as well. The QB room is solid this year. They have a guy is Jacoby Brissett who started a lot over the years. He’s a true professional and most of all has experience. This is beneficial for Sam Howell as well. So far so good for the Commanders as Sam Howell seems to be the real deal and will only get better with time like a bottle of fine wine.

Should We Be Concerned About The Chiefs?

Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (97) looks to tackle Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) during the second half at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023.

Coming off a Super Bowl victory, is there reason for the world to be concerned about the Kansas City Chiefs? The Chiefs along with the Detroit Lions got the party started this year to kick off the 2023-24 NFL Season. It was not a pretty sight for the Chiefs and it resulted in a loss for them. Just one guy was missing for the Kansas City Chiefs and it was very noticeable. Travis Kelce has been the best TE in football for awhile and many are beginning to believe he may very well be the best TE to ever play the game. It definitely feels that way as the Chiefs didn’t look like the Super Bowl winning team we saw last season just in the absence of Kelce. When other guys are missing in action, other guys have to step up. The Chiefs didn’t have anyone step up in the Thursday night loss to the Lions. There were a plethora of drops by the Chiefs WR core. It makes you wonder do they have enough to win the Super Bowl again this season? They also loss Juju Smith Schuster as he was a key part of their success last season too. He is now a member of the New England Patriots. The way the Chiefs looked, it makes you think should they look to acquire some WR depth and even a true starter on the outside? Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may become available. It may be a good idea for them to keep an eye on Cooper Kupp if the LA Rams decide it’s time for a rebuild. The Chiefs should be very concerned about their WR room and should monitor available weapons on the open market.
