In Baker We Trust
Before the NFL Regular Season began, there were questions of who would be the starting Quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It is extremely hard to fill in and wear the shoes that were once worn there at QB with Tom Brady. The Bucs did sign Baker Mayfield. However, he didn’t look very impressive during the preseason and Kyle Trask’s name has been mentioned numerous times as the potential starter. Week one has come and gone, and not only did Baker start, but he led them to victory. Week two has now come and gone. Once again, not only did Baker start yet again, but he once again led them to victory again! Playing QB is not the easiest thing to do in the NFL. It particularly isn’t easy when you’re stepping in after the greatest quarterback of all time in Tom Brady. Brady was a winner. Baker Mayfield is proving to be just that as well. What’s worth mentioning is the fact that he hasn’t turned the ball over at all thus far this season. Baker is playing the best football of his NFL Career and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are quietly making a run at yet another division title.
Zach Wilson Is Not It
Sometimes in life, many people tend to be in denial of the things that are right in front of them. Often times, people don’t want to believe the truth. If they are understanding of the situation, sometimes they try to diffuse it or maybe even try to cover it up. Some even try to hide who they really are. Last week, the New York Jets loss QB Aaron Rodgers for the season with the achilles injury. It was truly devastating. Even if you aren’t a Jets fan, you had to have a pain in your heart watching Rodgers go down so late in his NFL Career. Zach Wilson came in and he didn’t lose the game vs. the Buffalo Bulls in New York. This week, the Jets took their show on the road as life without Aaron Rodgers has officially begun. Things couldn’t have gotten off to a rougher start as they got spanked 30-10. What hurts the most is three interceptions thrown by Zach Wilson. Before the game, Head Coach Robert Saleh tried to downplay his QB situation as he stated the team will stick to what they are: A strong running game, good defense, and a “special” special teams. We have given Wilson all the excuses, time, and chances in the world. It’s time to accept things for what they really are. Zach Wilson is a bust.
