In football, it doesn’t matter how you win a game. The important thing is actually winning a game. It can be a sloppy game full of turnovers or even benchings. Of coarse, the goal is to play your best and limit those issues and mistakes. But when playing the game of football, it’s important to keep the main thing the main thing and the main thing is always and will always be winning.
When the schedule comes out, you have games circled that you know you ought to win. This game was circled for the Monarchs. ODU went to Southern Miss to take on the Golden Eagles and managed to escape with a victory too. This was a game where they were trailing by three going into the fourth quarter but somehow got a much needed victory on the road as they defeated Southern Miss 17-13.
This game, we seen a little bit of QB Jack Shields. However, ODU turned back to QB Grant Wilson and he handled his business by throwing for nearly 200 yards without turning the ball over. ODU should remain with Wilson. He has given them the best chance of winning. ODU will look to keep the momentum going on October 21st as they hope to go a game above .500 as they host Appalachian State then. Next week, they will appreciate a much needed bye week.
