Defenders Lose First Game At Home Ever, BattleHawks Win 45-12 (4-27-24)

The fifth week of the 2024 UFL season finished up this past week. Last Saturday. The Birmingham Stallions defeated the Houston Roughnecks 32-9 moving to 5-0 on the season. The San Antonio Brahmas extended the Arlington Renegades losing streak to five games with a 25-15 win on the road. The Renegades have not won a game since the XFL championship game last year. One Sunday, The Michigan Panthers moved to 3-2 with a 35-18 win over the Memphis Showboats. Lastly, the DC Defenders returned home to Washington to face the rival the St.Louis Battlehawks.

The Defenders would take their first loss at home in the team’s existence in a blowout 45-12 to the rival Battlehawks to move to 2-3 on the season. Defenders QB Jordan Ta’amu would go 12-for-23 with 101 yards, one passing touchdown, and three interceptions. WR Kelvin Harmon (4 rec, 37 yards 1 TD) and TE Kaden Smith (3 rec, 25 yards) lead the team in receiving. Cam’ron Harris rushed 11 times for 25 yards and a touchdown. Michael Joseph (11 tackles) leads the defense for the Defenders. This game was all Battlehawks. QB AJ McCarron (14/24, 214 yards & 2 touchdowns and WR Hakeem Butler (6 rec, 147 yards & 2 TD) lead the charge for St. Louis and help them move to 4-1 on the season.

The DC Defenders (2-3) will remain at home this week to take on the San Antonio Brahmas (4-1) on Sunday, May 5th at 4 pm. The Defenders will be at home for the next two weeks.
