Robb Johnson’s ACC Kickoff Day 1 Thoughts (7-22-24)

By: Robb Johnson

The ACC kicked off its media day with the commissioners’ forum followed by Florida State, Georgia Tech, and newcomers to the conference SMU. The Mustangs are not the only new team to the conference as they are joined by California and Stanford formerly of the PAC-12 conference.

The conference will look to rebound after the Florida State Seminoles went undefeated in the regular season. They won the Conference Championship, only to be left out of the College Football Playoff that expanded from four teams to twelve. The Conference is looking exciting in 2024 with teams like Miami and Virginia Tech looking to get back to glory.

The Conference’s recent Powerhouse Clemson looks to be back in the mix, they have a week 1 meeting with National Title favorite Georgia. This game will set the tone for the Conference and the Tigers going into the 2024 season.

The Atlantic Coast Conference, like most, looks to start the process of making a dream a reality by being the first Conference to win a National Championship in the new College Football twelve-team format era.
