VCU Vs. Richmond: A Deeper Look

This is my summary of last night VCU and Richmond 77-76 classic.
The VCU Rams have struggled this year. The truth is that they are not as good as they have been in the past. The talent is there. The confidence and the lack of VCU swagger and determination is not.
This basketball team is very talented. But it takes more than talent to win basketball games. Leadership, accountability and acting like you been there before plays a roll. When VCU was up by 12 last night.
They should have killed the spirit of the crowd and the Spiders as a whole. However they are no killers when it comes to getting the job done on the court. Acting tough and being tough when chips are down are two different things.
I will say who is tough and that is the Richmond Spiders. They are fearless and don’t give a damn about if they are down or up. They are coming for your throats. The scary thing is that they are young and will only get better.
When they are focused and locked in they could be the second best team in the A10 behind Rhode Island. Rhode Island is the favorite to win the A10 title and are expected to make a deep tournament run. But they have an obstacle and that obstacle could be the 804’s own Richmond Spiders. Just ask the VCU Rams.
The A10 tournament might not have to deal with Havoc. Hell on earth might be a better term when you have to deal with the Richmond Spiders.
