“The Irishman” makes quick work of “The Cowboy” UFC 246 (1-18-20)

Conor McGregor‘s long anticipated return was finally here! After an almost year and a half hiatus the “Notorious“ one was making his return to the Octagon. McGregor’s last fight was in October of 2018, suffering a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 4 rounds. McGregor’s opponent in his return, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, A grizzly veteran with over 36 wins in his career. The fans were hoping for a slugfest, but would get quick one-sided affair.
McGregor and Cerrone bump gloves to start and energy in the crowd was amazing. McGregor missed with a strong left as Cowboy duckEd and they latch onto each other. McGregor would deliver 3 devastating shoulder lunges on Cowboy’s head to bust his nose. McGregor would get separation and connect with a big left kick to the head and down goes Cerrone.
and just like that it’s over. It took 40 seconds for Conor McGregor to get his first victory in three years. UFC’s most polarizing character is back! Welcome back to “The Irishman“!
